PayPal Integration Instructions

Integrating the eCommerce module with PayPal is straight forward; but does involve a number of steps.

1. Log into your admin control panel for your User Friendly Website.

2. Select "Settings" from the primary navigation and then "shop settings and delivery costs" from the side navigation.

3. You should see a link that says "Download public certificate (paypal_my_cert.pem)". Click this link and save the file to your Desktop or Documents folder (we'll need it again in a minute). If that link is not visible, or if you need a new certificate for any reason, click the red "generate new certificates" button.

4. Log in to your PayPal account.

5. You want to make sure that your Account Type is "Business" and that your Status is "Verified". eCommerce integrations require a verified business PayPal account. If either of these values is wrong follow the steps to verify your account or change it to a business account.

6. Click on the "Profile" link in PayPals secondary navigation bar.

7. Click on the "Encrypted Payment Settings" link, it's under the "Selling Preferences" heading in a long list of links

8. At the bottom of that page under the "Your Public Certificates" heading is an "Add" button. Click that.

9. Browse for the "paypal_my_cert.pem" file that you downloaded earlier and select it.

10. PayPal should tell you "You have successfully added a certificate".

11. Under the "Your Public Certificates" heading you should now see your certificate, and next to it there should be a "Cert ID" (a string of numbers and letters). Select it and copy it to your clipboard.

12. Log into your admin control panel for your User Friendly Website.

13. Select "Settings" from the primary navigation and then "shop settings and delivery costs" from the side navigation.

14. Paste the "Cert ID" into the "PayPal Cert ID" box on that "Product and Shop Settings" page.

15. Also make sure that your PayPal Address is correct on that page.

16. Click the blue "Save" button on your page.

17. And you're done!
